Die Central Bank of Lesotho (Sesotho Banka e Kholo ea Lesotho; deutsch etwa Zentralbank von Lesotho) ist die Zentralbank des im südlichen Afrika gelegenen Königreich Lesotho. Sie hat ihren Sitz in der Hauptstadt Maseru und wurde 1978 gegründet.

Geschichte
Die Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) wurde 1978 als Lesotho Monetary Authority (Währungsbehörde Lesothos) gemäß dem Lesotho Monetary Authority Act gegründet. Sie nahm am 2. Januar 1980 ihre Tätigkeit auf. 1982 wurde sie per Parlamentsbeschluss in Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) umgewandelt. Mit dieser Änderung wurden auch ihre Aufgaben und Zuständigkeiten erweitert. Im August 2000 trat der Central Bank of Lesotho Act von 2000 in Kraft, der der CBL weitgehende Autonomie gewährte. Die Bank ist eine unabhängige gesetzliche Institution mit dem Auftrag, Preisstabilität zu erreichen und aufrechtzuerhalten.
